FAQ
What information do I need to input for Gear Copy to write a description?
With whatever information it’s provided, Gear Copy will aim to write 1-2 paragraphs and 4-6 “Features” as bullet points. So, the more info you can input, the better the description will be. An ideal formula is: Year, Brand, Model, Finish, and then any unique notes. For instance, from: “2019 Fender American Performer Telecaster Vintage White,” Gear Copy output:
The 2019 Fender American Performer Telecaster in Vintage White is a stunning blend of classic aesthetics and modern playability. This electric guitar features a sleek, lightweight body crafted from solid alder, providing a resonant tone that is both bright and punchy. The Vintage White finish, complemented by a 21-fret maple neck, offers a timeless look that is sure to turn heads on stage or in the studio. Equipped with Yosemite single-coil pickups, this Telecaster delivers a versatile range of tones, from crisp and clear to warm and full-bodied, making it suitable for a variety of musical styles.
Designed with the performer in mind, the American Performer Telecaster boasts a modern "C" shaped neck profile for comfortable playability, along with a 9.5-inch radius fingerboard that enhances fretting ease. The guitar also features a Greasebucket tone circuit, allowing players to roll off the treble without losing volume, providing greater control over their sound. Whether you're a seasoned pro or an aspiring musician, this Telecaster is built to inspire creativity and elevate your performance.
Features:
Alder body with Vintage White finish
Yosemite single-coil pickups
Modern "C" shaped maple neck with 21 frets
Greasebucket tone circuit for enhanced tonal control
9.5-inch radius fingerboard for comfortable playability
For Brand New gear, we’d recommend the same formula, but providing a model year is not necessary.
What if Gear Copy gets something wrong in its description?
While we do update and sync Gear Copy with industry standard knowledge of manufacturers’ tonewoods, body styles, pickup configurations, and finishes, as players ourselves, we’ll be the first to acknowledge that sometimes Gear Copy makes a mistake. As a precaution, Gear Copy won’t provide exact specs like nut width, scale length, or pickup output unless they’re provided in your prompt.
Here’s the cool part: if Gear Copy gets something wrong, you can just type back to correct it, and it will output a corrected description—and it won’t make the same mistake again.
For example: “This guitar has a maple fingerboard, not rosewood,” or “Only the bridge pickup is a humbucker, the other two are single-coil.”
And I can just copy and paste these descriptions wherever I want?
Yes, absolutely. Once Gear Copy has generated your description, just highlight, copy and paste, and use on your website, eBay, Reverb, Facebook Marketplace—anywhere you sell your gear.
How much does this cost again?
Gear Copy provides as many descriptions as you’d like for a flat $149 monthly subscription. In other words, we’re priced like (or hopefully less than) a utility, not an additional ecommerce employee.
Who uses Gear Copy?
While we can’t disclose exact names per our Privacy Policy, a growing list of dozens of NAMM Top 100 Dealers, Music Go Rounds, and music gear manufacturers use Gear Copy for instant, professional product descriptions everyday.
